Overview

The workshop is divided in two separate, but complementary, blocks, during which participants will be invited to share their views on new models of tourism development in biosphere reserves.

During the first part, participants reflected on the importance of tourism development as a source of support to the local communities who are contributing daily to the maintenance of fundamental Ecosystem Services.

In a second part, participants were stimulated to think about tourism as a unique opportunity to promote and implement initiatives and actions contributing to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and, through them, impact a large public with the practical Sustainable Development models BRs are committed to develop, experience and share with others.
