UNESCO Strategy in Brazil

© UNESCO

The strategy in Brazil is aligned to UNESCO Mid-Term Strategy for 2014-2021 (C/4 document) that together with the Programme and Budget for the biennium (C/5 document) represent the programmatic pillar of the Organization. The mid-term strategy and the biennial programmes allow tracing the evolution of UNESCO international cooperation in the country.

The identification of Brazilian development challenges defines the UNESCO programmatic priorities in the country:

The strategic objectives for each of the five UNESCO programmes guide the actions to be developed during the biennium.

UNESCO is a specialized United Nations agency for Education, Science and Culture. Therefore, it is committed to joining forces with the Brazilian government and civil society in reaching common development goals adopted by State Members of UNESCO and the United Nations.
