Global Report "Re|shaping cultural policies" - Launch in Brazil

The Global Report "Re|shaping cultural policies" hThe Global Report "Re|shaping Cultural Policies" is a series that has been designed to monitor the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005). The Report provides evidence of how this implementation process contributes to the Sustainable Development. Its purpose is to inform cultural policy making and advance creativity for development.

The Report in Portuguese was launched in an event organized by UNESCO in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with Itaú Cultural Institute. The event took place within the MicBR major South America, event in São Paulo, on 05 Novermber 2018. The occasion gathered specialists and policymakers from different countries of South America to discuss the advancements in the implementation of the 2005 Convention in the region. The event was also an opportunity to share susscessful experiences in the areas of creativity and cultural diversity.

RE|SHAPING CULTURAL POLICIES GLOBAL REPORT

This Global Report examines how the 2005 Convention has inspired policy change at the global and country level in ten cultural areas. It is based on the analysis of the Quadriennial Periodic Reports submitted by States Parties to the Convention and relevant new findings. It also presents policy recomendations for the future.

UNESCO in Brazil specially acknowledges the Ministry of Culture in Brazil by sponsoring the Portuguese translation of the Global Report 2018, and by collaborating with its technical review, its printing, and copy distribution.
