In the past, she worked full time at the Culture Unit, UNESCO Bangkok on projects related to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage management and networking for sustainable development. Some of the highlight projects include the integration of ICH in education for sustainable development in Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Viet Nam, and Palau; surveying the tertiary education institutions for ICH network in the Asia-Pacific Region; and the development of Cultural Heritage Specialist Guides for the Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns World Heritage Site. She is a member of the Arterial Network Cultural Policy Group and in 2014 represented Arterial Network and CDEA to provide input on culture through the Africa Working Group (AWG) response on the post 2015 development Agenda transformative issues. She is currently an member of UNESCO Expert Facility for the 2005 Convention. She served as East Africa’s representative on the Commonwealth Civil Society Advisory Committee (CSAC) and advised the Commonwealth Foundation from 2009 -2011.
