Born in 1962 in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Studies: He holds a Law degree from The Anton De Kom, University of Suriname, Faculty of Social Sciences, with the dissertation “Investment Legislation and the Role of Foreign Investment” (1991). He undertook several trainings in the United Sates in Forestry and National Resources Management (1996), Strategic Management approach, Conservation International (2000), Economic Tools for Conservation (Stanford University, 2008), Climate Change Diplomacy (United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UNITAR, 2010), and High Level Diplomatic Course (by UNDP, Madrid, Spain, 2011).
Professional experience: between 1991 and 2008, he was consultant in various private and public entities. He entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Policy coordinator in 2011.
- 2011/present: Counsellor/ Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Suriname in Brussels, responsible for the relations with the ACP, EU and the WTO.
- 2014: Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the embassy in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.
