This training seminar, organized by the World Heritage Centre, in close collaboration with the San Jose UNESCO Office, the Advisory Bodies (ICOMOS, IUCN, ICCROM) and with the financial support of the Italian Funds-in-Trust, is framed within the follow-up activities to the Periodic Report on The State of the World Heritage in Latin America and the Caribbean, presented at the 28th World Heritage Committee session (Suzhou, China 28 June-7 July 2004).

The seminar will focus on the analysis of the current status of the Tentative Lists and inventory system in the Meso-American sub-region, aiming at establishing a sub-regional strategy and action plan for the harmonization of the tentative lists and the development of sub-regional and transboundary conservation and nomination projects.

This technical exercise will involve 35 participants, all natural and cultural experts, coming from: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama and Mexico.
