Le Programme Information pour tous (PIPT) a été créé en 2001 pour fournir une plateforme de coopération internationale dans le domaine de l'accès à l'information et au savoir et pour la participation de tous dans les sociétés du savoir.

En 2014, le Programme Information pour tous a publié un rapport montrant quelques-unes des activités menées par le Programme entre 2008 et 2013. Le rapport met en avant des activités des groupes de travail du PIPT, des initiatives de renforcement des capacités, des projets, mais également des ressources politiques développées durant cette période.
