Lamassu: When digital meets heritage

A statue of a winged bull or a Lamassu used to protect Ashurnasipals II’s North-West Palace in Nimrud (Iraq), ancient capital of the Assyrian Empire. In 2015, the site was deliberately destroyed by extremist armed groups. In response and as a sign of resilience, the statue was rebuilt using 3D printing and robotic engineering.
