Monitoring and evaluation

In recent years, many countries have developed one or more education plans. The implementation of these plans may encounter certain difficulties related to, for instance, the weakness of institutional structures, the need for stronger capacities, the insufficiency of financial resources, or unexpected crisis situations. Countries therefore increasingly pay attention to the need for regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of education plans.
This demands that key indicators be defined, the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework, clear assignment of responsibilities, and most importantly, ensuring that action is taken on the findings of the monitoring and evaluation exercises.
