The European Young Heritage Professionals Forum took place in Zadar, Croatia, from 20 to 24 May 2019. The Forum brought together 28 talented professionals from the 28 Member States of the European Union to explore their heritage and how they can contribute to its safeguarding in Europe. In an innovative format, which addressed both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the participants learnt how to develop safeguarding plans, involve local communities in heritage safeguarding, and design visibility campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of heritage.
The Forum was organized in the framework of the UNESCO-EU joint project “2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage: Engaging Youth for an Inclusive and Sustainable Europe” and was part of the World Heritage Education Programme. It was hosted by the Croatian Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia - developed in close cooperation with the NGO Diadrasis.

Le Forum européen des jeunes professionnels du patrimoine s’est tenu à Zadar, Croatie du 20 au 24 mai 2019. Le Forum a réuni 28 talentueux jeunes professionnels du patrimoine pour explorer leur patrimoine et envisager comment ils peuvent contribuer à sa sauvegarde en Europe. Dans un format innovant, qui abordait à la fois le patrimoine matériel et immatériel, les participants du Forum ont appris à développer des plans de sauvegarde, à inclure les communautés locales dans la sauvegarde du patrimoine et à concevoir des campagnes de visibilité pour sensibiliser le public à l’importance du patrimoine.
Le Forum a été organisé dans le cadre du projet conjoint UNESCO-UE « 2018 Année européenne du patrimoine culturel : Mobiliser les jeunes pour une Europe inclusive et durable » ainsi que du Programme d’éducation des jeunes au patrimoine mondial. Développé en étroite collaboration avec l’organisation non gouvernementale Diadrasis, il a été accueilli par la Commission croate pour l’UNESCO et le Ministère de la culture de la République de Croatie.
