UNDP Myanmar - 2018 Annual Report

In 2018 UNDP Myanmar finalised it new Country Programme Document (CPD) 2018-2022 and began implementation.

The CPD has two main outcomes – governance and sustainable peace, and sustainable and inclusive growth. Both outcomes are closely aligned with national priorities and the MSDP, which in turn is inspired by the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What we do

UNDP works in about 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results.  This is a critical time for the world and Myanmar. At UNDP, we see this period as a huge opportunity to advance the country’s sustainable development agenda and the sustainable development goals. 

In Myanmar, UNDP works in 2 main areas:

• Peace and governance: sustaining peace through national reconciliation and building an effective democratic state;
• Planet and prosperity: promoting inclusive, resilient and sustainable development and environmental management.

In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights and the empowerment of women, minorities and the poorest and most vulnerable.
