The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will enhance its support around democratic governance and inclusive growth in Ethiopia to meet the country’s accelerated reform agenda and deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
The Government of Japan has signed an agreement with UNDP to provide three million US dollars for the multi-partner programme Supporting Elections for Ethiopia’s Democracy Strengthening (SEEDS).
Ethiopia and Sri Lanka are partnering with China on a trilateral South-South cooperation that will focus on enhancing access to renewable energy technologies within the global commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ethiopia witnessed an improvement in its MPI and one of largest absolute declines compared from its starting point MPI, with improvements seen in all ten of the indicators that make up the index.Despite the progress Ethiopia is still facing major challenges and has one of the largest number of people living in multidimensional poverty after India and Nigeria.
The Government of Ireland signed today a Euro 700,000 financing agreement with UNDP to support Ethiopia’s upcoming election.
UNDP and the National Disaster Risk Management Commission launched a 4-year project to support the recovery and resilience of 50,000 households for communities affected by Gedeo – West Guji displacement.
