New 2018 EU funded publication of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage in Cyprus.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the United Nations Country Team in Cyprus has the pleasure of inviting you to the Opening Ceremony of the 2018/2019 Women’s Film Days Initiative.
The European Union, the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) planted yesterday in Amiantos, Troodos, 2500 trees to offset the carbon emissions produced by the heritage conservation projects they have carried out.
The European Union provided an additional €3 million in support of the work of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage in Cyprus via an agreement between the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
More than 400 people attended yesterday the event marking the completion of conservation works to the Ravelin/Land Gate in Famagusta.
The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage in Cyprus salutes this initiative and, on the occasion of the International Day of Monuments and Sites, is pleased to announce a new series of EU funded conservation projects and events through which it plans to mark the year in Cyprus.
Athina Papadopoulou and İlkay Feridun are two conservation architects from Cyprus. Working side by side, in the past twenty years the two women strongly contributed to shaping a non-political dialogue for Nicosia urban heritage first, and for the island’s broader cultural heritage some years later.
