On 2 May 2019, the 5th edition of the "Estamos Comprometidos" challenge was launched. This is a joint initiative of Ashoka, Socialab Uruguay and UNESCO.
Comprometidos seeks to support and give visibility to innovative and creative proposals of young people from Latin America, to solve social, economic and environmental problems, within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda, linking them at the same time with their community. br /br /It seeks to promote innovative youth initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the communities, to social inclusion and to the strengthening of the leading role of young people. For the fifth time, young people from all over Latin America, between 18 and 29 years old, will be invited to generate positive social impact, be leaders of change, sensitize others and improve their communities together by collaborating in the 17 SDGs. br /br /From 2015 to 2018, the growth of Comprometidos has been remarkable: more than 80.000 visits to the website, 2.911 young people involved, 1.553 initiatives presented, 31.452 supports and 149 allies. br /br /More than 80 partner organizations (most of them youth-serving NGOs, including leading universities) have joined Comprometidos, and their members are actively delivering ideation sessions, participating in the platform and promoting the Comprometidos’ vision. br /br /Comprometidos is organized in the context of the UNESCO Operational Strategy on Youth, especially Axis 3: Civic engagement, democratic participation and social innovation. br /br /
