  7. Evidence and rights based planning and support tool for SRHR/HIV prevention. Interventions for young people

    The Evidence and Rights Based Planning and Support Tool for SRHR/HIV-Prevention Interventions for Young People is a tool for project managers who either design new programmes or who evaluate existing programmes. The tool focuses on the planning of SRHR/HIV prevention interventions for young people and consists of 28 indicators for successful/effective education programmes. The indicators are based on existing theories and evidence and are based on the Intervention Mapping framework.

  8. Inquerito comunitario sobre os Conhecimentos, Atitudes e Pratica em relacao ao VIH/SIDA

    In 2006 the Project of Health Bandim realized a community inquiry, financed by UNFPA, about the knowledge, attitudes and practices related to HIV and AIDS.The study breaks down the population in terms of ethnicity, regions, religion and age and considers the level of knowledge people have about HIV and AIDS transmission and prevention methods. Similarly, the study considers the behaviours within social relationships that impact the spread of STIs and HIV, such as first sexual encounters, number of partners, frequency of sexual encounters and the use of condoms.

  10. MEMA kwa vijana program

    This programme is included in the Source Book of HIV/AIDS Prevention Program that presents 13 cases studies of good and promising practices of HIV/AIDS prevention programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. The AMREF, LSHTM and NIMR, initiated a program in 62 primary schools and 18 health facilities in Mwanza region in Tanzania in January 1999. Its main objective was to improve reproductive health knowledge among 12-19 year olds and decrease the rate of STI's and HIV infection as well as the number of unwanted pregnancies. …

  11. European guidelines for youth AIDS peer education

    The aim of these Guidelines is to provide guidance on setting up, running and evaluating AIDS peer education projects for young people. They were written with the practitioner and policy maker in mind, but should be useful to young people or anyone else wishing to gain an understanding of the approach. The Guidelines were developed from interviews, field notes, and an exhaustive review of the AIDS peer education literature. In addition, projects were looked at in 11 European Union member states. …
