Data for Equitable and Inclusive Policies

Public E-team

Join

SHORT DESCRIPTION

This e-team is concerned with discussing the kinds of data needed for equitable and inclusive policies – i.e., evidence that is increasingly equity-weighted, multi-dimensional, integrated and policy-sensitive. The outcome of this e-team’s work will be a think piece and possibly a project proposal on this topic.

You – the members of the e-team – were invited to join due to your expertise in this field.

Some primary issues in the field of data and equitable policies include:
  • Data to understand the extent of inequalities is inadequate
  • Inequalities (geographic, thematic) exist in our data on inequalities
  • Data systems are fragmented
  • Available data is not used effectively in policy and action

Therefore, you are kindly asked to discuss questions such as:
  • What kind of data is needed to design, deliver and evaluate inclusive and equitable policies?
  • Is such data available? Where are there gaps in the data?
  • Is such data accessible?
  • Is such data used effectively in policy-making?

Members are welcomed to highlight any issues and add any questions relating to this topic.
