SHORT DESCRIPTION

This E-Team focuses on the follow up to the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent's 20th Session, held between 3-7 April 2017, at Palais des Nations, Geneva. Topics covered include
1.) advocacy for prioritization of PAD in work for inclusive achievement of SDGs
2.) developing simple operational guidelines for use by stakeholders on how to prioritize PAD as a particularly discriminated group at all stages of a holistic approach to SDG implementation.

The Session included Consultation with Civil Society on 5 April with the objective to explore new and innovative ways for WGEPAD to strengthen its work through engagement with civil society organizations. Three guiding topics contributed to draft conclusions and recommendations made from the deliberations: current key human rights concerns of PAD and work to address them: how to improve and enhance WGEPAD's engagement with civil society for greater impact on the ground: human rights identified by the WGEPAD.
