At the heart of the Samata intervention is the development of a cadre of adolescent girl leaders who will sustain changes in favour of girls’ education and gender equality in their villages. The programme mentors girls to become confident and vocal young feminists, active in their communities and schools. Samata aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills to effectively negotiate a space that is hostile to women. Overall, the Samata programme has reached 3,600 girls across 69 villages in 2 districts of Bagalkot and Bijapur in northern Karnataka.

The document represents the consensus among all participants on key areas of action to strengthen national systems and capacity for WinS and recognizes the positive spirit and forward-looking motivation of delegates, who expressed their commitment to use this document as guidance in future work towards universal access to WinS.

The Fit for School (FIT) programme integrates school health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene interventions, which are implemented by the Ministries of Education in four Southeast Asian countries. This paper describes the findings of a Health Outcome Study, which aimed to assess the two-year effect of the FIT programme on the parasitological, weight, and oral health status of children attending schools implementing the programme in Cambodia, Indonesia and Lao PDR.

This paper synthesises the evidence on sexual and reproductive health situation of young people in India, sheds light on those sub-populations of young people who are most vulnerable to adverse sexual and reproductive outcomes, and assesses the barriers that compromise the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people at the individual and family levels, as well as at the programme delivery level.
Considering the importance of CSE, the updated school curriculum has introduced it from basic education to high school education. Different universities also included CSE components in their programmes especially in faculty of education. The inclusion of CSE in curriculum is not sufficient to implement in the grass root level. It is equally important to aware the policy makers, supporting agencies and implementers for the effective implementation of the programme. …
