58th session of the Bureau of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP)

The Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council (IGC) of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) will hold its 58th statutory session to exchange on matters of strong relevance to the Programme, unfolding prior to the 24th session of the IGC (2020).

It will discuss, inter alia, the mid-term evaluation of IHP-VIII, the evaluation of IHP’s flagship initiatives, as well as the drafting of the strategy of IHP’s forthcoming ninth phase (IHP-IX, 2022-2019). The IHP Bureau comprises a Chairperson, four Vice-Chairpersons, and the past Chairperson as ex-officio member .
The meeting will take place in Room XI (Miollis building) from 10 to 12 September 2019. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Arabic (tbc).

The 58th session of the IHP Bureau will discuss, among other matters:
• the consultation regarding the update of the Statutes of the IHP Intergovernmental Council, with a view to its submission to UNESCO’s 40th General Conference (November 2019);
• the Mid-term evaluation of the eighth phase of IHP (IHP-VIII);
• the evaluation of the IHP Flagship Initiatives;
• the Strategic Planning of the ninth phase of IHP (IHP-IX, 2022-2029).
