Estrategia para salvaguardar el patrimonio cultural de la artesanía tradicional: los centros regionales artesanos

El “Werkraum Bregenzerwald”, el “Hand.Werk.Haus Salzkammergut” y el “Textiles Zentrum Haslach” son tres centros creados y dirigidos en Austria por artesanos locales tradicionales, que en los últimos quince años han venido colaborando con artistas internacionales, instituciones educativas y otros organismos para salvaguardar sus técnicas en beneficio de las generaciones venideras. Estos centros han organizado numerosas actividades públicas para conservar las técnicas artesanales de carpintería, pintura y confección de textiles que confieren a las comunidades un sentimiento de identidad y continuidad. Regentados por asociaciones, en cooperación con empresas artesanales e instituciones educativas y científicas, los centros ofrecen programas de formación en técnicas tradicionales consistentes en clases de iniciación para alumnos de primaria, cursillos estivales o de fin de semana, programas de aprendizaje y cursos universitarios. En esas actividades de formación intervienen expertos locales e internacionales para transmitir sus conocimientos teóricos y prácticos relacionados con los distintos tipos de técnicas artesanales. Para fomentar la notoriedad de la artesanía tradicional, los centros organizan también exposiciones y concursos a los que acuden diseñadores y artistas locales e internacionales. Además, sirven para tender puentes entre las artes y las empresas, ofreciendo plataformas para intercambiar ideas y experiencias sobre la práctica de la artesanía tradicional y la creación de redes de cooperación. Por último, también facilitan el establecimiento de vínculos de cooperación entre el sector cultural, el educativo y el económico, contribuyendo de esta manera al reforzamiento de las actividades de salvaguardia.
