Access to the collections

The archival collections are available for use by researchers, historians, students, journalists, and film and television crews from Poland and other countries who are working on subjects related to the camp. The holdings are made available in the form of photocopies and microfilms. The Archives continue to receive requests for documentary material from courts and the Main Commission for the Investigation of Crimes against the Polish Nation for use in the search for or the trials of former members of the camp SS garrison. Archival materials can be made available to users who provide the Archives with prior notification of the date of their arrival and a description of their subject of interest. Representatives of institutions and associations, and students at the secondary or university level, should furnish a letter of recommendation. The Archive does not loan out material. In circumstances that it deems to be justified, it may, for a charge, provide copies and photographic prints of items in the collections. The Archives also offer tours to study and seminar groups from Poland and abroad, accompanied with talks on its work and holdings.
