Postgraduate studies "Totalitarianism—Nazism—Holocaust"
The Auschwitz Museum in collaboration with the Pedagogical University of Kraków organizes postgraduate studies that aim to deepen knowledge on totalitarianism of the XX century, Nazism and the Holocaust, professional development of teachers, preparation of the listeners to engage in inter-cultural dialogue, as well as the development of skills to overcome prejudices and stereotypes among the youth. Postgraduate studies for Polish teachers of the humanities. The studies last for three semesters and include 350 didactic hours accomplished, among others in the form of lectures, workshops, and study trips.
Topics:
• the history of World War II,
• the history of the Holocaust,
• totalitarian systems and Nazism—reasons for their creation,
• life and culture of the pre-war Jews,
• history and culture of the Roma,
• the Holocaust, World War II and the Soviet POW camps in literature and art, including the art of film.
Example topics:
• the Nazi movement and Nazi Governments in Germany and occupied Poland,
• Nazi concentration camps with special reference to the KL Auschwitz,
• history and culture of the Jewish nation up to 1939,
• persecution and extermination of the Jewish nation under the rule of the Nazis,
• the fate of the Roma, Poles and Jews during World War II and the postwar period,
• the Holocaust and concentration camps in literature and the arts,
• the Holocaust and concentration camps in feature and documentary films,
• the post-war fate of the Jewish nation,
• the creation of the state of Israel, its domestic problems, and position in international politics.
The lecturers are researchers and educators from the Pedagogical University of Cracow, historians of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, leading Polish university lecturers, historians, literary scholars and sociologists, and representatives of the world of politics and culture.

Postgraduate Studies "Christian—Jewish Relations"
The Auschwitz Museum in collaboration with the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow organizes postgraduate studies in "Christian-Jewish Relations". The studies are addressed to Polish teachers, catechists, staff of cultural institutions and institutions engaged in counteracting xenophobia and anti-Semitism, persons involved in inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogues, museum guides, media professionals and all those interested in the topic.
Topics are centered around three thematic blocks:
• the coexistence of Christians and Jews from antiquity to contemporary times,
• anti-Semitism The genesis, process and consequences of the Holocaust,
• the Christian and Polish-Jewish Dialogue.
The lecturers are researchers and educators from the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow, the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, the Museum of the history of Polish Jews POLIN in Warsaw, and the Center for Dialogue and Prayer in Oświęcim.
The studies last for three semesters and include 252 didactic hours accomplished, among others in the form of lectures, talks, workshops, and tours.
