    13 September 1944 | The Allies bombed the IG Farbenindustrie chemical plant located near the German Nazi Auschwitz camp for 13 minutes. Some bombs fell at the sites of Auschwitz I & Auschwitz II-Birkenau. 40 prisoners & 15 SS men were killed. Many people were wounded.

  4. In Birkenau bombs (visible in the image) damaged the railroad embankment and the connecting track to the crematoria. At the chemical plant bombs made a lot of damage. Ca. 300 people were killed, among them many prisoners who worked there.

  6. Na terenie Birkenau bomby (widoczne na zdjęciu) uszkodziły tor i nasyp kolejowy bocznicy prowadzącej do budynków krematoriów. Na terenie zakładów chemicznych bomby zniszczyły wiele urządzeń i zabiły ok. 300 osób, w tym wielu pracujących tam więźniów.

  7. 13 września 1944 r. miało miejsce trzynastominutowe bombardowanie zakładów IG Farbenindustrie. Kilka bomb spadło również na obszar obozu Auschwitz I i Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Podczas nalotu zginęło ponad 40 więźniów oraz 15 esesmanów. Było wielu rannych.

    A plaque honoring captain Tadeusz Paolone was unveiled at the public library in Tymbark. The guest of the event was the Auschwitz survivor Zofia Posmysz. She donated a replica of a medallion of "A Christ from Auschwitz" which she had received in the camp from capt. Paolone.

    10 September 1942 | Franciszek Doszek (camp. no. 18271) who had escaped on 28 March 1942, was captured and placed in the camp prisoner, the bunker of Block 11. On 12 December 1942 he was released from the bunker and most probably executed by shooting.

    Tadeusz Paolone (camp no. 329, deported in the first transport of Poles to Auschwitz on 14 June 1940) was a Polish army officer. In he joined the resistance movement. On 25 September 1943 he was executed by shooting at the yard of Block 11 in Auschwitz I.

  21. Na ścianie Biblioteki Publicznej w Tymbarku odsłonięto tablicę pamiątkową honorującą kpt. Tadeusza Paolone. Honorowym gościem wydarzenia była Zofia Posmysz, która przekazała kopię medalika „Chrystus Oświęcimski”. Otrzymała go w od kpt. Palone
