Isfahan to Launch its first Handicrafts Summer School

The Creative City of Isfahan bears witness to more than 190 forms of Crafts and Folk Art. It has also be awarded the world city of handicrafts by the World Crafts Council (WCC).
From 25 to 29 August, the city will organize its first handicraft summer school for young people to train them in design, production and selling processes in the field of handicrafts. The summer school aims to:
- Generate a willingness and motivation among young people to engage in the field of crafts and folk art;
- Create social participation in the production of handicrafts;
- Propose short and effective training to build capacities;
- Provide experience from design to sale in collaboration with handicrafts masters;
- Raise awareness about the risks in the production of handicrafts;
- Familiarize with local historic culture.
Interested in joining the summer school? You can register in one of the disciplines that include emboss (engraving on metal), enameling (miniature painting on metal), calico (hand printing on the fabric), tile painting, and pottery by writing to creative.city@isfahan.ir
