On 5 August 2019, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) held negotiations with the “Cultural and Sport Rehabilitation Centre” of the All Russia Association of the Blind (CSRK VOS). The talks engaged Mr. Alexander Neumyvakin, President of the All Russia Association of the Blind (VOS), Mr. Vladimir Bazhenov, General Director of CSRK VOS and Mr. Tao Zhan, Director of UNESCO IITE.
At the meeting, the participants discussed matters of organizing and conducting the Joint International Educational Rehabilitation Forum “Vladivostok 2019” to be held on September 23-28, 2019 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The Forum will be co-hosted by VOS and UNESCO IITE.
The meeting reached the agreement of joining forces and facilitating the implementation of the joint project between UNESCO IITE and CSRK VOS on creating an additional assistive education system for sight-disabled persons. Within this framework, it is planned to establish an ICT-competence centre for visually impaired people in Vladivostok.
