Resources

UIS.Stat: A powerful and easy-to-use browser for viewing and downloading the most popular UIS data and indicators in tables. Data are organized in a tree view by topic and presented using a simple three-dimensional format (indicator, country or region, year). Users can build their own customized tables and export data in Excel format. NOTE: Following technical improvements, you can now access the database using Google Chrome.

UIS Developer Portal: Tools, documentation and prepackaged datasets that enable developers and researchers to build websites and applications using UIS dissemination data.

UIS Education Statistics

  • Data Dictionary: Describes the education indicators and raw data including concepts and codes (in English, French and Spanish) published in the UIS API. It also includes a column which indicates whether the data/indicator are published in UIS.STAT.
  • Data Release Report: For each education data release, this document describes the data release coverage, the Sustainable Development Goals 4 (SDG 4) indicators for which data are published and those for which data are not yet available. The document describes also UIS data collection and validation processes and the content of the data release with the related breakdowns.
  • Background Information: Includes information about symbols used, official data sources used by the UIS to collect education data as well as for population estimates and economic statistics. It also provides technical notes on education data and indicators. Country specific notes can be found in this document as well.

Tips to use UIS.Stat

  1. Open UIS.Stat in Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on "Data by theme"
  3. Select a theme
  4. Select a data table
  5. Click "Customise" to select indicator, country and year(s)
