Jennifer Pye is a programme specialist in the IIEP Training and Education programme. She oversees the development of training programmes in the area of inclusive education with a focus on children and youth with disabilities.

She is currently formulating a distance education course related to disability inclusive education sector planning in partnership with UNICEF.

Trained as a teacher with a Master’s degree in education policy and human development from George Washington University, Washington D.C., she has worked for 10 years in the education sector at the World Bank where she focused on policy research on equity and access to educational opportunities, in particular for children and youth with disabilities. She also developed capacity development initiatives in the context of education project implementation in Liberia and Iraq. For Sightsavers she evaluated inclusive education projects in Kenya and Cameroon. While at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Henry Dunant Foundation in Santiago, Chile she oversaw the development of a range of distance education courses in the area of disability, human rights and gender in support of the work of Ministries of Education, Social Protection and Gender Equality across Latin America.
