This report is a collaborative work accomplished by a group of UNESCO specialists and experts. Borhene Chakroun, Director of the Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems; Fengchun Miao, Chief of the Unit for ICT in Education, Education Sector; and Valtencir Mendes, Project Officer, Unit for ICT in Education, Education Sector, provided overall guidance and direction to the planning and content.

Additional input was provided by UNESCO education colleagues, particularly Anett Domiter, Huhua Fan, Iaroslava Kharkova and Veronica Cucuiat. James Keevy, Gill Scott and Kelly Shiohira from JET Education Services, a UNEVOC Centre based in South Africa, prepared the compendium of initiatives based on a selection of initiatives received as applicants to Mobile Learning Week (MLW) 2019. We also acknowledge the unique artistic skills of Alexia Leibbrandt that contributed to the success of the MLW 2019 conference and have been used in this publication.

UNESCO would like to especially thank the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), ProFuturo Foundation and Skillogs for being the partners for MLW 2019, and to extend sincere gratitude to the speakers and participants from across the globe, comprising representatives from international organizations, government officials, academic experts and industry practitioners in the field of ICT in education.

During the five-day MLW event, UNESCO gathered participants to share experiences and initiatives and plan joint actions with a view towards harnessing AI to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. This report stems from a selection of the AI initiatives presented by speakers and the insights shared by participants at MLW 2019.
