CAMPUS UNESCO with movie "PARVANA the breadwinner" will take place June 18th, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00 at UNESCO Headquarters, 125 Avenue de Suffren, Paris, Room XI.

Speakers:
Chekéba Hachemi - Afghanistan's first female diplomat, founder of the NGO Afghanistan Libre will speak on the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
Justine Sass - Chief, Section of Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality at UNESCO in the UNESCO Division for Support and Coordination of the Education Agenda 2030.
Public: 250 young people from colleges

Parvana is a 11-year-old girl growing up under the Taliban in Afghanistan. When her father is arrested, Parvana dresses as a boy in order to work and provide for her family.

 

ABOUT CAMPUS UNESCO: To put the expertise of UNESCO teams and partners at the service of the youth for a better understanding of major contemporary issues. It is an opportunity for young people to exchange ideas on various topics alongside three experts of the issues at hand. The experts are from UNESCO and civil society. Since 2014, 59 CAMPUSES raised awareness to over 18,500 young people on major issues such as sports and citizenship, peace, sustainable development, human rights, girls’ education, genocides, freedom of expression, and cultural heritage.
