2019 E4J Initiative Grant Programme for Higher Education Institutions

Given the expressed interest in the 2019 E4J Initiative Grant Programme for Higher Education Institutions, the Education for Justice (E4J) initiative has extended the official deadline to 22 September 2019 11:59 CET.

As an innovative initiative, E4J is designed to support educators teaching the next generation to better understand and address problems that can undermine the rule of law thereby contributing to achieving Agenda 2030 with a particular focus on SDG16.

At the tertiary level, E4J aims to support academics in their efforts to transmit knowledge and create a deeper understanding of rule of law related issues, with a focus on the subject areas of crime prevention and criminal justice, anti-corruption, organized crime, trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants, firearms, cybercrime, wildlife, forest and fisheries crime, counter-terrorism as well as integrity and ethics. More than 600 academics and national experts from more than 550 universities and 114 countries contributed to the development of the E4J University Module Series and participated in related activities thus far.

The 2019 E4J Grant Programme for Higher Education Institutions aims to build an even stronger network between E4J and academics around the world who will both use and promote E4J materials and tools. To facilitate this goal, E4J encourages professors, lecturers and academics teaching at Higher Education Institutions to submit creative ideas on how to use a grant amount ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 20,000 to promote the E4J University Module Series, e.g. by organizing summer/winter schools for young lecturers, innovative conferences, simulation exercises, competitions, etc.
