About 60 participants from 15 countries joined the current session of the postgraduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development in Africa which takes place from 9 to 19 March 2015 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The new class mainly made by policy-makers, curriculum developers / specialists, teachers’ trainers and assessment specialists will be coached at the Tanzania Institute of Education to benefit from cutting-edge training and key insights to core curricular concepts and strategies. Curriculum reform remains one of the most challenging areas facing African education systems.
The on-going success of this IBE initiative confirms that countries are strongly sensitive to the role of curriculum leadership and innovation in the comprehensive development of human capital and in forging inclusive development. The training will help participants to gain the knowledge and expertise required to lead, manage and assess processes of curriculum renewal and development in their own contexts. This two week face-to-face session includes interactive activities and workshops including presentations from national and international curriculum professionals. The sessions also provide valuable opportunities to develop analytic and communication skills by collaborating with groups of peers over case studies, activities and peer-learning experiences.
