Coming soon: the fourth Postgraduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development in Africa (starting March 2015 in Tanzania)

The fourth Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development in Africa will start March 2015. Applications submitted in 2014 will remain valid.

The initial phase of the training (face-to-face session) will occur from 9 to 19 March 2015 at the Tanzania Institute of Education in Dar es Salaam. The Diploma employs a dual approach to learning core curricular concepts, combining an intensive two-week face-to-face session with a distance learning component over a period of nine months. The programme is intended to train education policymakers, teachers, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, principals, supervisors, quality assurance officers, researchers, international staff and other partners in education to make informed decisions about quality curriculum products.

Graduates of previous editions have successfully led and managed significant curriculum reforms and delivered effective teacher training in their countries. Previous participants have also reported high levels of satisfaction with the international nature of the training which allows the trainees to engage in education-related discussions with experts and peers from across Africa and other parts of the world.

This initiative is being implemented by the IBE and other UNESCO partners (ED/TLC), the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), and the Open University of Tanzania (OUT). It is made possible with the financial support of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance.

Please note this Diploma will be offered in English and French, and facilitated for Lusophone participants.
