Genetic doping and artificial intelligence on Agenda of UNESCO Anti-doping Conference

Genetic doping and artificial intelligence, the role and the engagement of women and youth in sport, and the importance of values education through sport, are on the agenda for the 7th Conference of Parties of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, at UNESCO Headquarters from 29 to 31 October.

A forum on key issues will take place on 29 October, setting the stage for the conference that will continue the following two days.  The event that will bring together some 500 high-level representatives of the 188 countries that are Party to the Convention, experts and major stakeholders of the sport movement, including the World Anti-doping Agency, the International Olympic Committee, the International Testing Agency, the Council of Europe, INTERPOL and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

Preventive education and awareness raising on the dangers of doping are at the core of UNESCO’s mandate in sport. The Organization is engaged in the fight against doping as it seeks to preserve the values of sport and protect young sports people.
