In 2015, World Health Organization worked with the Nepal Ministry of Health to redesign the country’s Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health, through a pilot study utilizing the Innov8 Approach – an 8-step review process geared towards helping health programmes better address gender, equity, human rights and social determinants of health. UNICEF and UNAIDS launched the ALL IN platform in February 2015 to galvanize global action towards HIV and a population that were largely neglected in the global AIDS response – adolescents. This report presents the findings of an evidence gap map that assesses the evidence available on the effects of adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) programming in low- and middle-income countries. It documents the methods used to create the map and examines evidence clusters and gaps identified in it. While there is considerable amount of impact evaluation evidence, it addresses only some of the priority questions within this broad topic. The working paper presents data on the coverage of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in primary schools gathered from 149 countries for the period 2008-2013. It also compares current national WASH in Schools (WinS) monitoring indicators against global guidelines. It aims to promote and support improved monitoring of WinS so that coverage indicators can be included in the forthcoming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
