Partnerships

The success of the 2005 Convention relies on a variety of actors: artists, civil society, governments, academics, donors, the private sector and the media.


By participating in discussions or contributing financially, donors and partners work to protect and promote of the diversity of cultural expressions strengthen the scope and impact of UNESCO’s programmes.

 

There are many ways to get involved:

Civil Society

Become an accredited civil society partner

  • Support projects in your country
  • Join the Civil Society Forum: by writing to convention2005@unesco.org
  • Apply for International Fund for Cultural Diversity funding, if eligible
  • Participate in Quadrennial Periodic Reporting

Governments

Ratify the Convention

  • Apply to become a member of the Intergovernmental Committee: convention2005@unesco.org
  • Apply for funding from the International Fund for Cultural Diversity, if eligible
  • Implement Quadrennial Periodic Reporting process

Private Sector

Fund activities to achieve common development goals

  • Share business expertise
  • Dedicate human and financial resources to UNESCO
  • Provide in-kind contributions
  • Sponsor events, high-level conferences and International Days

Artists

Apply for International Fund for Cultural Diversity funding, if eligible

  • Join accredited civil society organisations
