Very young adolescents (VYAs)—those between the ages of 10 and 14—represent about half of the 1.2 billion adolescents ages 10–19 in the world. The book is about two friends, Kendi and Kayla. Kendi is living with HIV. The story is set in Africa and illustrated by celebrated artist Sujean Rim. These books will be delivered to schools across Africa through ST-EP’s Small Libraries project.
