This report focuses on the effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on rural communities in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. The report is a collection of information on HIV/AIDS from various documents and websites. It gives statistics of the pandemic from various regions including Sub-Saharan Africa and also highlights on the impact of HIV/AIDS on women, food security, agriculture and youth. It also looks at issues on mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS in development, governance and accountabilty on HIV/AIDS, HIV treatment and challenges and opportunities for civil society. The report, compiled for the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation internal seminar for HIV/AIDS highlights important challenges and offers various sources of URL links for discussion groups and websites looking into HIV/AIDS issues.
