Seville and Bologna on the same beat: co-organisation of an exchange programme of Baroque music

Seville and Bologna on the same beat: co-organisation of an exchange programme of Baroque music

When:
Thu, 03/31/2016

The conservatories of Bologna and Seville, both Creative Cities of Music, are collaborating in an exchange programme dedicated to Baroque music. The initiative is part of AMANT (Academia de Música Antigua, Universidad de Sevilla), an education programme for young musicians organized by the Baroque Orchestra of Seville and by the University of Seville.

The programme is addressed to talented students enrolled in the last two years in the Music Conservatory “Manuel Castillo” and offers a rich schedule of classes, workshops, conferences and master-classes focused on Baroque music.

In this framework, five Spanish students will attend in April a seminar under the leadership of the teachers of the Music Conservatory G.B. Martini of Bologna. At the end the Baroque Ensemble of the Music Conservatory will perform along with the Quinteto Abdelazer of Seville.

Bolognese students will return the exchange next June, joining the education programme in Seville and taking part in the final phase of the local education programme AMANT. Together with the Spanish young musicians, they will perform on June 21 for the European Day of Music celebrations.
