World Press Freedom Day 2019

At age 14, Agnes fled from the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) that raided her village home demanding virgins. In a horrifying escape, she endured a treacherous long journey that ended in a camp for internally displaced people. That experience gave Agnes the determination to pursue an education and career to counter human trafficking. She was a 2010/11 Fulbright Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow (Human Trafficking, Policy and Prevention) at the University of Minnesota. She studied forced migration at the University of Oxford and obtained a Mid-Career Masters in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School.  She is the founder of the Dream Revival Center for survivors of human trafficking and currently heads Uganda’s Immigration Training Academy.
