Bertrand Levant

Programme Specialist for Freedom of Expression and Media Regulation, Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie

Bertrand Levant holds a master's degree in international relations, a master's degree in communication and journalism and a master's degree in European studies.

After working as a journalist for the newspaper "Le Soir", in 2011 he joined the Higher Audiovisual Council of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (Belgium), in charge of coordinating the Belgian Presidency of the Réseau francophone des régulateurs des médias (REFRAM). In this regard, it produces several publications, such as the "Vade-mecum on the means of action for gender mainstreaming in the policies of REFRAM regulators". From 2013, he will be in charge of research within the regulatory authority and then deal with media pluralism.

Since January 2015, he has been a programme specialist in "Freedom of Expression and Media Regulation" within the "Political Affairs and Democratic Governance" Directorate of the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF).
