About GCOS
The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) is a co-sponsored programme which regularly assesses the status of global climate observations and produces guidance for its improvement.
It is co-sponsored by the
World Meteorological Organization (WMO),
Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO),
United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment), and
International Science Council (ISC).
About GOOS
The Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) is a sustained collaborative system of ocean observations, encompassing in situ networks, satellite systems, governments, UN agencies and individual scientists. We are organized around a series of components undertaking requirements assessment, observing implementation, innovation through projects, and a core team.
About WCRP
The World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) facilitates analysis and prediction of Earth system change for use in a range of practical applications of direct relevance, benefit and value to society. WCRP aims to determine the predictability of climate and the effect of human activities on climate.
