Conferences
To encourage ratification and promote the implementation of the 1954 Convention and its two Protocols (1954 and 1999), the Secretariat regularly organizes conferences and meetings involving Member States, governmental and non-governmental organizations, international experts, and other stakeholders.
- “Protecting Cultural Property: International Conference on the 20th anniversary of the 1999 Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention”, 25-26 April 2019 Geneva, Switzerland
- Expert Meeting on the ‘Responsibility to Protect’, Paris, 26-27 November 2015
The Secretariat also participates in international conferences where it has the opportunity to raise awareness or contribute to capacity building.
- On 27 and 28 June 2017, the Secretariat was invited to Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) and helped to raise awareness and capacity of representatives of Central Asian government agencies.
These conferences are intended to bring together interested parties from all over the world and are designed to facilitate ongoing discussions, cooperation, and assistance between States and international organizations as a means of resolving critical issues related to the 1954 Hague Convention and its two Protocols (1954 and 1999).
