Participants undertaking training on the use of Physics Micro Science KitTeachers have an essential role in providing quality education at all levels. UNESCO supports the government of Tanzania in developing capacities to improve the education, training and management of teachers by providing strategic advice and technical support. To strengthen programmes for Pre-Service Education and Training (PRESET), assistance is focused on improving the delivery of the competency-based education and training curriculum. UNESCO also provides technical and financial assistance for training programmes to enhance the pedagogical skills of teacher tutors. To promote teacher quality and raise public confidence in teachers, UNESCO supports the government’s efforts to improve the management and professional development of teachers, as well as to enforce teaching guidelines for ethics, performance and professional conduct.
