Description:
This guide was created within the framework of an HIV & AIDS project implemented in Georgia. It offers step-by-step guidelines for developing educational materials on HIV & AIDS and STIs that are based on effective behaviour change communication. It focuses on the necessity to adapt communication to different audiences, notably by involving target populations in the development process of the materials. The document is intended for people working in STI and HIV & AIDS education in Eurasian countries and consists of eight chapters or "steps": 1) "Plan your project", 2) "Identify and study your audience", 3) "Develop messages", 4) "Create draft materials", 5) "Pretest and revise test materials", 6) "Produce materials", 7) "Distribute materials and train on their use", 8) "Evaluate materials". The guide also contains useful appendices such as examples of group discussions and interviews that may be conducted among different target groups to determine the best ways to communicate with them on HIV & AIDS.
