UNESCO, jointly with the Ibero-American Council of Sports – CID and the General Secretary of Ibero-America – SEGIB, are organizing the 1st Conference of Ministers and High Authorities of Sport in Iberoamerica to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on sports, physical activity and physical education in the region.

This pandemic has evidenced the relevance of the sports environment in our countries and many sports stakeholders highlighted the importance of keeping up the phyisical activity during quarentine.

This is a time to foster cooperation and exchange between countries, the COVID-19 response implies coordinated responses and information exchanges, and sports is not the exception.

Therefore, UNESCO, CID and SEGIB organize a virtual space that aims to strengthen initiative sharing among sports and seek out cooperation strategies.
