Commission meetings

UNESCO’s Futures of Education: Learning to Become initiative was launched at the UN General Assembly in September 2019. The establishment of an International Commission to be chaired by Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde was announced at the event. (Additional information about the launch event is available here.)

First meeting

The International Commission on the Futures of Education held its first meeting at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on 28-29 January 2020.

Ad-hoc meeting on the COVID-19 crisis

At the beginning of April the International Commission held a special meeting to discuss the COVID-19 crisis and prepared the following:.

Upcoming meetings

The next meetings of the International Commission on the Futures of Education are scheduled for September 2020 and March 2021.
