UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay opened the event, which marked the 70th anniversary of the UNESCO Courier and the 1st of its relaunch, alongside Zhuang Rongwen, of China’s Administration of the Press and National Publications, and Lee Byong-hyun, Chairperson of UNESCO’s Executive Board.
The UNESCO Courier contributes to UNESCO’s mission to serve as the international community’s laboratory of ideas and is published quarterly both online and in print in nine languages: the six official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), Esperanto, Portuguese, and Sardinian. The publication was relaunched in 2017 thanks to the support of the People’s Republic of China.
