IIEP is an integral part of UNESCO and subscribes to its main priorities. At the same time, the Institute enjoys a large amount of autonomy with its own Governing Board, statutes, premises, four-year Medium-Term Strategy, staff, and budget. It also sets its own agenda and goals.
