UNESCO is taking measures in an attempt to stop the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In this regard, please be informed that the UIL Library remains closed to the public until further notice.
For any inquiries concerning the UIL Library, please feel free to contact uil-lib@unesco.org.

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) Library collects books, periodicals and other material and makes these available to the public in order to support the work of researchers, scholars, students and policymakers.

The collection contains works on the topics of lifelong learning, adult education, adult literacy and non-formal education. Its strength lies in its broad historical range, its international orientation and the wealth of specialized material (including grey literature) it offers.

Documents and publications can be consulted through UNESDOC, UNESCO’s online catalogue.

The UIL Library offers eleven working spaces to researchers, scholars, fellows and interns, who benefit from the library’s resources and the daily assistance offered by the librarians.

The UIL Library compiles lifelong learning policies and strategies and makes them available online. The Library also coordinates the ALADIN network and the CONFINTEA Scholarships.
