Inés Garese, mi.garese@unesco.orgThis training seminar will be held in Mexico City, Mexico, from 3 to 7 August 2020. Its aim will be to train teachers who work in the area of bioethics education at the undergraduate or graduate level. The training will provide teaching experts with methodological tools in bioethics education (deliberative method, problematic methodology, use of cases, problem-based teaching, etc.), and special strategies.
It will also include introductory topics for broadening the bioethics agenda and educational content, including the human rights approach, environmental and social issues and building a culture of peace.
The training targets teachers working for educational entities, universities and organizations promoting bioethics education in Latin America and the Caribbean, and independent teachers interested in the subject.
They will be trained by and exchange with leading international bioethicists around key issues in bioethics education.
Registration is free. Participants will be provided with a relevant bibliography, and meals during seminar hours. The costs of transportation, accommodation and food (extra) must be covered by the participants, or their academic institutions.
Applicants will be selected by a committee set up for this purpose.
The course will be taught only in Spanish.
